First Installation Fails

I just installed wpilauncher for the first time. After going through the tedious task of providing user names and passwords for a platoons worth of people it informed me that the product had been previously installed. I found this a novel means of getting software is installed. This Hard Drive has only been installed for about 4 day, and this was my first installation of any of the MSDN offerings. Could you use this new technology to install Windows 7 for me.

Expression Web not available in Web Platform Installer

I have just installed a Windows Web Server 2008 R2, x64. WPI installed succesfuly, and afterwards I installed IIS, .NET, SQL and Visual Studio. All seems to work just fine.

I would also like to install Expression Web, which should be part of the package. I cannot find the installer anywhere in the WPI. Am I looking in the wrong place? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem, but I will ask a question to,

I have the same problem with Windows 7 Professional RTM 64bit, but i don't have the problem with Windows 7 Ultimate build 7000/7100 RC 64bit Version.

Also there are some products missing like PHP, Drupal and a lot more.

Are there any differents with windows 7 products that will not allow us to see these tabs and the missing products?

Glory for helpers!

Helpers needed to fix problems, what should never happen, namely a form is displayed without any HELP features. I basically wanted to download VWD Express and a couple of other stuff to get familiar with some new stuff like the Zuccherro (SugarCRM). Now it ask me questions to which I've no idea what to answer. The genius, who designed this form deserves to receive the price for the worst user appearance for ever. What a brain-damaged creature!

Please help, cause I'm stuck

The installer should figure out the dependencies and prompt to download and install the - check www.eclipse.org and see how their installer handles additional features.

Another issue with the installer is that once you pick the your installation (say the thrid from http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql/download/) you cannot install more features (say Full-Text Search and Reporting Services), because the installer tells you that the package is already installed, which is not the case.

You guys have some briliant ideas, I cannot believe you missed simple and straightforward capabilities like these. You must fix that!

I got a request to send logs (circuitry maximus to me) but the reply address in this web (npi) of excess mass may a disco (reject). What now?

Hi Andrew

As I said before, I and thousands like me don't get installation media any more as our machines come pre-installed with Windows.

Fortunately, when reading the documentation for Visual Web Developer (sorry, I should have done this first), I find you don't need IIS to test web pages on your local machine.

Perhaps you can put a note to this effect next to the Web Server option when choosing Web Platform components from within the Web Platform Installer application? Something like "to install IIS you will need the original XP discs". This will avoid a lot of headaches for new users trying to install IIS when they don't really need it.

Web Platform Installer 2.0 freezes

a bar running across window screen after running above.
