Problems with FrontPage Server Extensions, IIS6, Multiple Sites using Host Headers and Visual Studio 2005

Hi,

I really hope someone can help me, I've been going round in cricles with this problem!

Scenario:

I have a virtual server Windows 2003 Server with IIS6. FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 are installed. I want to use Host Headers to have multiple websites running. I have configured this and I can access the sites through the browser using the site name eg: http://TestSite

However, I cannot open the websites remotely anymore with Visual Studio 2005.

The error I get is that FPSE are not installed. I have tried to configure FPSE, but it seems to hang, at one stage I left work on Friday with it running and when I came in on Monday it was still running!

When I go into Microsoft Sharepoint Administrator it appears as though the Extensions have been configured, but they appear to have different versions!

See below:
Default Web Site http://Server 5.0.2.6738 Administration
TestFrontPage http://FP 5.0.2.6790 Administration

If I try to open the site in Visual Studio it doesn't work with the error that FPSE is not installed.

I have tried to manually create a virtual directory called _vti_bin below the testFrontPage site pointing it to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\50\isapi and still it doesn't work.

Can someone please help me?

For Application running need IIS restart...WHY?

Hi All...

I am using windows xp service pack2..and using Visual studio 2005...

when i running any application some times its displaing but some times its showing Page cannot be displayed...

At that time once restart the IIS it can display the page...why its happening...i have uninstalled the iis and installed it again..but same problem persistes....

please help me......

Deployment & Application Pools

I have a Server 2003 box running II6. The server has the 1.1 and 2.0 frameworks installed. There are two application pools, one for 1.1 applications and one for 2.0 applications.

Is there a way that during deployment, from either VS.NET 2003 or 2005, to have any application being deployed that is 1.1 to be set to use the application pool for 1.1 applications? Same question for VS.NET 2005 deployment, can 2.0 applications be deployed and automatically be set to the other application pool.

Trying to eliminate an extra step during deployment to make sure it is in the correct application pool.

I have created a virtual directory in IIS and web dav publishing is enabled on my IIS Server.

How can I access and manipulate files in my WebDAV folder through code (C#).

Please suggest any free webdav client API and reference links.

Publishing Web Service On IIS6 Win2003 under my Existing Website IP

HI,
Am trying to publish WS on IIS under Existing Website, i created vistual directory and may the files, and i edit the web confige as well so the user can invoke the WS over the www.
now my problem is when i call the WS the IE6 returns " Page cannot be dispalyed" ,
but if i create new website and map this site to my WS every thing works fine ,,,,, ?!

Hi,

i have ASP.NET Application,it is was working fine in pervious version of IIS,when i migrated to the vista,it is now showing errors

these errors

HTTP Error 403.18 - Forbidden

Description: The specified request cannot be processed in the application pool that is configured for this resource on the Web server.

Error Code: 0x00000000

Configuring IIS 6.0 to work remotely with Visual Studio .NET 2005

I recently setup a new win2003 box as an application server. I am unable to create a new web site or open an existing web page from a remote machine (same network) within Visual Studio 2005. I have ASP.NET and FrontPage Extensions enabled and I think I have all the correct permissions set. However, whenever I attempt to create or open a web site w/in VS I get the error "Unable to create the Web 'http://xxxx'. Service Unavailable". Is there a faq out there that describes how to setup IIS to work w/ VS2005 remotely? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks,

Larry, sorry for the late reply. The ASP.NET runtime issue I am referring to here has indeed been fixed for RC1. However, due to a number of changes in Vista security and IIS7, it currently takes a few extra steps to get VS debugging working.

If you follow these steps and it still doesnt work for you, let us know what issues you are having so that we can get to the bottom of it.
