msdeply with encryptPassword

I'm trying to migrate a number of sites from Server 2003 to Server 2008 with msdeploy. All going well until I got to the site that has SSL. This one required me to enter a password when archiving the site using encryptPassword which I did. Now I have come to install it on the new server (2008) it is giving me the following error :

Error: The property 'value' is encrypted. The same password that was used for encryption must be specified in order to continue.
Error count: 1

I am using the same password. I even went back and made another archive just to make sure but I got the same error. I've Googled this error message but it didn't find a single page about it.

The commands I used are :

msdeploy -verb:sync -source:metakey=lm/w3svc/711308 -dest:archivedir=c:\sitearchive\711308,encryptPassword=MyPassKey

msdeploy -verb:migrate -source:archivedir=D:\sitearchive\711308 -dest:metakey=lm/w3svc/711308,encryptPassword=MyPassKey

Can anyone help me with this please?

Hi,

I think installation problem because when ever installing the any services at the time automatically installing the system services. sou didn't find the that services?

click the Run button type the You can do this by clicking Start, Run and typing services.msc. The service is listed as the Microsoft Web Deployment Agent Service.

If you have didn't display the that Service at the time Remove that after installing the as well as

Not able to copy the virtual folder content during migration from IIS6 to IIS7

Hi,

I have used the following MS deploy command It is just create the vertual folder without content here is the command which I used

msdeploy -verb:migrate -source:webserver60,computername=server1 -dest:webserver60

after giving this command I would able to see only site name and vertual folder without content

I don't know whether I am using the right command or Is there any way to migrate content of vertual folder.

Need help.

Server migrate - Problem in IIS

Hi Members,

I recently moved my website from physical server (Development) to another VM ware (Develpoment). But I wasn't able to run my website in IIS framework 1.1.

I've checked several turns for the similarity of the settings in both the IIS.

Even I face some problem in opening up the solution file in Visual Studio 2003.

I feel there is some properties to be changed for both the IIS and Visual Studios.

Could you let me know as what are the necessary steps or procedure to be followed while we move application from one server to other.

Any suggestion are welcome.
