Bug with REG input..

I am trying to run a simple REG query using the LogParser.exe (latest version v2.2):

LogParser.exe "SELECT DISTINCT Path FROM \\MyBox\HKLM\SOFTWARE\MyCompany\MyProduct\1.2" -o:DATAGRID

but I am missing several entries (I only see 12 out of the 20 key-nodes under the specified registry key). Same problem when using the LogParser.dll. Is there a known bug with the built-in registry plug-in? Are there any security settings that may be causing LogParser to miss certain entries? I can see all the entries just fine when I open using regedit or use the Win32 APIs (RegOpenKeyEx, etc.).

I can see all the keys when I run "reg Query \\MyBox\HKLM\SOFTWARE\MyCompany\MyProduct\1.2 /s" from command line.

FYI: I am running Windows 2003 Server x64 Enterprise Edition.

Logparser in VISTA

Hi,

I try to take backup of my registry in VISTA m/c using following query with administrator privilage:

C:\Program Files\Log Parser 2.2>logparser -i:REG -o:CSV "Select * from HKLM to D:\test2.csv"

It generates the following message:

Task completed with parse errors.
Parse errors:
133386 parse errors occurred during processing (To see details about the parse error(s), execute the command again with a non-zero value for the "-e" argument)

Statistics:
-----------
Elements processed: 350043
Elements output: 350043
Execution time: 102.57 seconds (00:01:42.57)

If I try to execute the same without administrator it goes infinitive loops .. past 12 hrs no response

Here is the breakdown of problem servers:

NT Wks x2
NT x6
W2k x1

FYI we have NT servers that are not having this problem.

Do you see the odd behavior on boxes >= W2K ?

just sent the registry key to your e-mail. This one the cpu utilization does not spike, the server is NT4, i will try to send you the export from the one that spikes the cpu.

That's odd.....does it happen when you omit DISTINCT?

Any chance you can dump that key to a .reg file and send it to me?

What full LP version is this? 2.2.9 or 2.2.10?

I am running a test query right now: after 15 minutes:
cpu is 80-90% CPU time: 15min, memory 3672/6628 VM (mem usage increasing by 8k per second), page faults 42,404,011 PF delta average 14,000

This seems pretty crazy.
