Error 404.3 with asp.net 2.0 and IIS7

I just put vista on my machine and IIS7 with it.

I have enabled ALL the features including development of asp.net

I can see the aspx handler in the new handler console of IIS7 and also when executing:
C:\>%windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd list config "Default Web Site/mysite" -section:handlers

but still when I browse to any aspx page in my virtual directory I get error 404.3 (MIME not configured etc...)

I made sure aspx is registered using aspnet_regiis -i

I also removed and reinstalled IIS (enabling all its features) but still 404.3

another interesting thing: when creating a new web site on IIS, VS does not to decide if to use framework 2.0 or 1.1 (a message box is asking me to configure something (I do not what and how) so VS will be able to decide)

What Can I do?

Larry, sorry for the late reply. The ASP.NET runtime issue I am referring to here has indeed been fixed for RC1. However, due to a number of changes in Vista security and IIS7, it currently takes a few extra steps to get VS debugging working.

If you follow these steps and it still doesnt work for you, let us know what issues you are having so that we can get to the bottom of it.

Hey buddy, did you enable all services on RC1?

I met the same problem like you and after 2 hrs Googling and testing I found out that the problem is because when you click on the IIS7 checkboxes in Vista RC1, it is actually that you didn't select all sub-items like Asp.net all so. Hence you need to expand all of them, or you need to click again.

I upgraded Vista from Beta 2 to RC1. I'm trying to enable IIS, but it simply says "An error has occurred. Not all features were successfully changed". And it reports this in the Event Log. Can anyone help?

IIS7 and VWD 2005 - any tricks?

Well I can't seem to get it all to work properly - however I got close once I installed the IIS6 compatibility options. Is there any other tricks I should be aware of for installing VWD with Vista's IIS7, do I need to turn off UAC or somethign like that?
