Auto deploy ASP files

Hello everyone,

I want to auto deploy ASP files to live server and back up previous files before replacing them, Can anyone please tell how can I do that using Web Deployment Tools? and Is there any guidline or video to illustrate the steps?

Beta 2 32-bit Download

Hi,

We currently have Beta 2 installed and need to install it on another server but require the 32-bit version for this. The problem is that all links to the Beta 2 download now go to RC1.

Is Beta 2 32-bit version available for download anywhere?

Cruise Control and MS Deploy

Hi,

Currently we are using Cruise control and nant scripts for creating packages and deploying them.

I have couple of questions. Please help me to understand MS deploy thoroughly.1. Can we use packages (zip files) created using nant build scripts along with Web Deployment tool (MS deploy) to deploy application?2. Can we replace web.config contents dynamically which is part of package which is not created using MS Deploy?

2. Can we use MS deploy to deploy application which is not already deployed on any server (First time deployment)?

A quick and dirty way to eliminate the insufficient privileges issue is to change the account that the app pool runs under to an admin account for a quick test.

How with msdeploy i can specify the new AnonymousUser and password when i migrate my website from IIS 6.0 to IIS 7.0.
My servers are not in a domain so it's not the same anonymous user.

ReplaceHandler not working, rule or command

I've been using msDeploy for a feww days and it's working fine, except the replace rule, i am not able to execute the rule correctly. I have tried command, rule in configuration file and nothing has worked. Here is my last rule.

i have also try to add command line

replace -replace:ObjectName=metaProperty,targetAttributeName=bindingInformation,match=192\.168\.99\.100,replace=192.168.0.9

nothing work, anybody know why ?

How i change anonymousUser informations

I try to import iis 6.0 web sites from IIS 6.0 to IIS 7.0, everything working fine, but i can't find informations on how to change anonymous user informations. On my old server the user was IUSR_IISSERVER and on the new servuer it's IUSER_IISSEVENSERVER How can i do that with msdeploys. Please help me.

ReplaceRuleHandler not working

Hello, Why my ReplaceIpAddressInBinding rule don't work. I put my rules on the source machine (remote one) and I on the target machine (the machine where I execute the command) and the IP dont change. There is my rule. I try to put in the command to and it's not work, some one know why ? When I would be able to make a replacement rule, I want create rule to change the anonymous username, and the password if it's possible. I want to create a rule to change the domaine name ie: www.microsoft.com to www.microsoft.locale.com because I want to syncrhonize a production server with a test server, so i need to change the domaine of each web site. Thanks

How to run msdeploy with elevated privileges (as administrator)

I am currently working on a deployment web app, which wraps msdeploy. I have run successfully from my local machine. However, when deployed to our dev server, the deployment app doesn't work. Files are not copied and I get the following event log entry:

I'm using IIS7 on our dev server (running Windows Server 2008), and my web development is using VS2008. In my deployment web app, I create a process and start it, using the following code:

The FileName parameter points to msdeploy.exe, and the Arguments parameter ends up as follows:

-verb:sync -source:contentPath=\\builderpc\TeamCityBuildArtifacts\xxx.EnterpriseServices\xxx.EnterpriseServices_Release\405\ -dest:contentPath=\\dwebapp01\c$\inetpub\wwwroot\xxx.EnterpriseServices,computerName=DWEBAPP01,username=builder,password=builder

I can run msdeploy from a command prompt on the dev server using these parameters successfully, if I select "Run as administrator" when opening the command prompt. How do I make my web app run msdeploy as an administrator? I've read some posts about the need to use elevated privileges, but I don't know how to do this, or even if that is the correct solution. Any help much appreciated.

I fixed this error by disable the 'script source acces' on the home directory tab.

But the following error appears at the next stap:
