How can I sync a specific web application within a website in IIS6 using msdeploy?

Hi,

I have been trying to sync only certain web application in a website in II6, but i cant figure out the correct command to do that. Now i think i know how to sync the entire website, but i want to only sync a specific web applications in that website.

Any help will be appreciated!

Howto switch from ISAPI to FastCGI PHP on IIS6

I have a Windows 2003 server (SP2) running PHP 4.4.1 as ISAPI. I wanted to try using the Microsoft Web Platform Installer to update PHP, but I heard that it has problems updating setups that run ISAPI. I am assuming that I'll need to convert to FastCGI first. Are there any guides that might point me in the right direction?

HI! I finally managed to get access to Windows 2008. It seems that the tools available are different but the basic approach of my previous article still works. Only difference is that you need to use a command tool called appcmd to perform the migration.

w3wp has handle on download files

Hello,

is it common that w3wp has handles on download files? Meaning, i cannot replace a file in the directory because w3wp.exe has one or several handles on the file.

Is there a way to tell iis/asp.net not to put a handle on the file?

More detail: I set iis to handle .exe files with asp.net 2.0 isapi filter to have dynamic urlreplacement. I did so in IIS and to complete it I added the following line to web.config.

OK...I received great help so far. And last but not least, I need your help in one key area!!! I have been receiving many error(Error 500) messages when trying to upload my web.config fie into godaddy's hosting environment. Can someone please take a brief look at my web.config file and tell me what I am doing wrong? Little background, I am attempting to run on IIS7, I have (I know) SQL 2005 Databases, and some Ajax ext. that have'nt given me any problem in regular hosting environments such as DailyRazor.com. However the problem is, their hosting does not support rewrite module. Can someone please tell me how to disable this feature, or how to fix the problem. Below is the snippet of my config; true - - -

I am trying to load a C#.aspx project in IIS6 on my local server. The page does not load normally as it takes an extremely long time. I have tried the following steps with no success in rendering speed.

HelloWorld.aspx loads fine
iisreset
windows update
validate the solution and library build successfully
modified the hosts.ini file to point to my local IP
removed all other entries in the hosts.ini file except my address
shut down/restart
checked the services running - Coldfusion is not installed so no issue there
disabled IPv6 for Firefox

What next? I need help!!!

Messed up header redirects (SEO)

Hi all,

Must be a known issue, but didn't find any solution to my problem yet.

For months Google was not redirecting or reindexing my content correctly and FINALLY I found out that FastCGI on my IIS6 (W2003) is wrongly sending other PHP header redirects then I actually do.

Like a 301 turns into 302 and I need to display a custom 404 to not mess up the header for the googlebot.

Is there any solution, I rather not go back to ISAPI.

REFURBISHED COMPUTER FROM HELL -- Joy Systems
(Says its Version is 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600)

However has not ever seemed to have SP3!!

PROBLEM: Microsoft Updates wants me to install the following:
         Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP 3 (KB955706)
         (upgrades all MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition instances and

components to Service Pack 3 (SP3)

-----The download is done however it will not install!---------

IIS 6.0 Error - 400 - Request Length

I have two websites running on the IIS 6.0 server on windows 2003 SP2 machine. One website has no issues but for the other one I am getting 400 - Request length error in the HttpErr log file. I checked the request length using network trace and the request length shows up ranging from 100 to 3000. Also the same url works fine on other windows 2003 machine with IIS 6.0 in a different environment. Can someone provide more details on how to investigate and resolve this issue?

404 with PHP fiiles IIS 6

Hello!

I have a virtual server setup running W2K3. I installed PHP5 via the WPI from php.iis.net. PHP works fine for the default website.

However, when I create new websites, PHP files return a 404. I originally thought it was a MIME Type issue, so I added PHP as text/html, but that didn't fix the issue.

I've looked at the FastCGI ini file and PHP's INI file, but I don't see anything amiss. What could be different between a default site and a new site?
