I don&amp;#39;t know if in the next version of WMS and/or Media Services for IIS the gap will be bridged. &lt;p&gt;Our requirement is to add advertisements like TV commercials to a main video. I appreciate any inputs on this, mainly the correct platform to use - should it be wms server side playlist or IIS7 web playlist &amp;amp; authentication.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;Mathi&lt;/p&gt;</description></item><item><title>Windows Media Streaming - playback VERY choppy</title><link>http://forums.iis.net/p/1150687/1875092.aspx#1875092</link><pubDate>Sun, 27 Jul 2008 23:20:21 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">50bcf3b4-f6fe-4638-adff-0c150e922e99:1875092</guid><dc:creator>boe_d</dc:creator><cs:applicationKey>iis7_-_media-41</cs:applicationKey><description>&lt;p&gt;I have a pretty large WMV file&amp;nbsp; - about 100MB at 1080i.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I don&amp;#39;t seem to see a big difference in where it pauses if I just link to the file via http or if I use Windows Media services.&amp;nbsp; It will pause about every 10 seconds and rebuffer.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I have&amp;nbsp; a T3.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Any recommendations short of lowering the resolution?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#39;m testing on right now when we have virtually no traffic on our network.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The server has just about everything I can find set for unlimited and cached.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The server has 24 GIGs of memory, a quad core 3 GHz processor and tons of fast storage.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Network, processor and memory utilization barely register when I playback a file.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; My PC has a 5Mbit connection to the internet, a 3GHz core 2 processor, tons of free disk space and 2 GIGs of RAM and 512MB 8800 video card (no problem playing the file locally) - The most utilization I&amp;#39;m seeing is CPU at 24%., memory at 900MB and network&amp;nbsp; at 5% &lt;/p&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
