1. No, the advertisements cannot be skipped.

2. The advertisements are local.

We also want to log the statistics & authenticate the users.

How can one decide which platform to choose for their requirement. Anything published regarding this?

WMS Playlist Vs IIS7 Web Playlists

We are using WMS serverside playlist in our application - I just found IIS7 Web Playlists CTP2, I'm trying to understand the difference between these two.

Our requirement is to add advertisements like TV commercials to a main video. I appreciate any inputs on this, mainly the correct platform to use - should it be wms server side playlist or IIS7 web playlist & authentication.

setting Windows Media Service to allow clients to save a wmv file?

Is there a setting I can change so that a client could click on file save when playing a wmv file from windows media player?
