Hi Anil,

I get the same error when accessing a local site on my 2008 server, with IIS 7:

Config Error	This configuration section cannot be used at this path. This happens when the section is locked at a parent level. Locking is either by default (overrideModeDefault="Deny"), or set explicitly by a location tag with overrideMode="Deny" or the legacy allowOverride="false".

I tried your suggestions, but it does not seem to work. What do I do wrong?

500.19 Error While trying to access Image Virtual Folders from UNC

We have a 2008 x64 Server running IIS7 that will start throwing 500.19 (The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.) errors when it tries to access images from a virtual folder located on a UNC share. The odd thing is if you restart IIS the errors disappear, however they will reappear in a few hours, sometimes on a different site even. We are running the app pools as a user with rights to the UNC share, and we have configured IIS to connect to the UNC with the same user and password.I have included the error details below. Any help is appreciated.

Problems with content on UNC share

Hello,

I have some problems migrating my old ASP applications to IIS7.

I configured an application pool that runs under an domain user that has access to the UNC root path of the website. (this user is also used in the live IIS6 environment so permissions are ok...)
The Anonymous authentication is set to use the credentials of the application pool.

When I restart the world wide web publishing server it all goes well, I can access the website and for example go to the "logging" settings in the IIS7 UI and change settings.

But when I want to open "logging" after like 1 minute i'm getting the error:

This error will popup for all the configuration settings for that site.

I'm also getting errors on other websites:

The strange thing about both problems is that they wil disappear when I restart the World wide web publishing service.... and come back after some time.

Maybe someone has an idea what could cause this?

Extra info: The websites do not have web.config files because they are classic asp. But I created them for some sites to test but got the same errors...

I can't for the life of me figure out why this attribute doesn't work on my Vista Machine - Any idea?

I have set up two 2008 servers with IIS7 and as far as I can see identical set up of the IIS7.

The second server errors with...

Both servers logged on as system administrator on the domain. I copied the applicationhost.config from good server and restarted iis7 and no change. Same error when running from browse within iis7 and XP pro on another machine. I can fix error by adding "everyone" read permissions to the remote share. last line "logon user not yet determined" seems to be the problem. The "basic authentication" does not throw up a password box like the firtst server does. Both set to basic authentication. I do not use webconfig.cfg.

I have got my IIS7, Vista x64 running with PHP 5 (FastCGI). It works perfectly when I have my websites located in C:\inetpub\

Because of the way my machine is set up, I need to relocate my sites to another drive and folder, that being P:\www.develop\

I have correctly set the IIS_IUSRS permissions on the site folder (and just in case, I made a new site folder via IIS so it set it's own permissions) yet I keep getting the error:

After hours of searching the web for a solution, I am stuck.

My sites don't even have a web.config file in them, so I don't understand what is going on??

Please someone help me, it took two days to get IIS working with PHP in the first place, and I'm really fed up with errors and issues.
