Today I was publishing a webapp from my vs2008 workstation to a local IIS 7.0 Web Server, so In the C# Code, I supossed to use Forms Authentication, when I configured the new website in the server, I enabled Windows Authentication. Then I haved to login on the AD/DC DB Server 192.168.X.X in Windows way, I means start>run>ip Server>user&password and then view the shared files. at Last I browse the web application and perform some CRUD Transactions.

So my two questions are (for now) :

• Why not works with FormsAuthentication, when I tryed, IE shows me HTTP Error 401.2

• Why I have to login on the server with the previous described way. May I Have to configure a Guest Account with read permissions for everyone that want to view the website?

Thanks in Advance!

I am trying to develop a webinterface to control the webdav authoring rules. The webinterface interacts with a SQL database to store each folders authoring rules. This rules can be modified within the webinterface.

My question is, how can I sync the authoring rules stored in the database with them in application config. I looked at the post from trnsfrmrsr (http://forums.iis.net/t/1153161.aspx) and implemented a solution using the Microsoft.Web.Administration assembly. The problem with that is, that I have to run the IIS-process with sufficient rights to modify the application config - and that is not what I want. Is there another solution?

I also tried to extend the basic authentication module (http://forums.iis.net/p/1152183/1889432.aspx) to check access against my database. With this solution, I would have only one authoring rules store and no syncing is required. But it is almost impossible to get it work properly.

So, how can I realize this? Any suggestions, solutions?

This is the feature exposed in FrontPage and Expression Web where you right click a folder and have access to various permissions like 'allow scripts to be run'. Every time I try and check the 'allow anonymous upload to this directory' box and apply and ok, then refresh, i can see the changes have not taken. Is this feature curently broken (does it work for anybody out there?) or is there something I need to know about IIS 7 that needs to be changed?

How do I give anonymous users write permissions on a folder/file

<cs:applicationKey>iis7_-_classic_asp-41</cs:applicationKey>

Hi

I am new to IIS 7 (and to be honest am not exactly a whizz with IIS 6 either so sorry for the basic nature of this question) but I cannot figure out how to set write permissions on a folder so that the anonymous user can upload content to the folder.

The web site that I am configuring is written in Classic ASP with VB Script.

Thanks for your help.

Richard

Re: Anonymous PUT in WebDAV

<cs:applicationKey>iis7_-_publishing-41</cs:applicationKey>

Jet 4 Replication Manager uses an anonymous put to upload files. Any thoughts on how we can force this to login?
