I downloaded Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 (x64) and installed in my machine. But I found that after creation, aspnet account is not getting created automatically.
1. I went to C:/windows/Microsoft .Net/Framework/v2.0.50727 (Framework64/v2.0.50727 also) through cmd and tried executing "aspnet_regiis -i" command. But it displays as "Some error occurred" (not exact text message).
2. I also went to control panel user groups and found that aspnet account has not got created. Is there any way I can create aspnet account manually?
But I can create and run aspnet applications my visual studio 2005 in my machine. My laptop OS is Windows Vista Home Premium (x64). I have got IIS 7.0 Please help me.
Thanks in advance

Server Application Unavailable The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request. Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.

I have verified the Event Viewer too.

i got the following errors from Event Viewer

aspnet_wp.exe could not be launched because the
username and/or password supplied in the processModel
section of the config file are invalid.

aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. The error code for the failure is 80004005. This error can be caused when the worker process account has insufficient rights to read the .NET Framework files. Please ensure that the .NET Framework is correctly installed and that the ACLs on the installation directory allow access to the configured account.

My machine has Windows 2003, IIS 6, .NET framework 2.0

I googled a lot to find some answers. I could not even find the ASPNET user account on my machine to give rights.

If i get a solution for this it would be appreciated.

As a proof of concept I have to configure this CMS to accomplish this feat. The configuration of the CMS requires that a Virtual Directory be created with write privileges in each node with the same name, but the VD path must be a UNC path the to other nodes local directory.

Everything is working except for the last step, where the CMS tries to write a file to the other node. The only thing that isn't happening is the actual writing of the file, it fails. I've tried various configurations of the "connect to" properties, what identity the app pool process w3wp.exe runs as, with different administrative accounts and just can't seem to get a file written from a virtual directory in one website to appear in the local file system of the other website.

I vaguely remember doing this for a previous project years ago and I think it might involve going into the Component Services, COM+, IIS Out of Process (blah blah blah) settings, and making some changes in the security tabs or "run as" prompties there, but I'm not sure and I can't waste of lot of time with trial and error.

Can anyone point me to the documentation that can get a virtual directory configured with write privileges to a UNC path? I have a Safari O'Reilly account so I have access to a lot of MS Press books, O'Reilly books, etc.
