Yes, I am using 64bit OS (SBS 2008 comes only with 64bit, because of MS Exchange 2007).

When I use the test with the UDL file on the server, it works ... access via 32bit ODBC to Access 2003 works.

It seems to be more a problem of the IIS in connection with classic ASP

When I set the application pool to 32 bit mode enable, the application pool stops.

The system log files says that the appl.pool ist stoppef because of a series of errors. (Event ID 5002, Source WAS) and warnings like Error in the listening canal for http (event id 5139 in WAS)

I have vista premium home and IIS 7

I am using dreamweaver cs3 and i beginner to asp.

My problem is that the ie says http 500.

My code of the page is

site not working without mentioning the default page in IE 7 but working fine with mozilla

I hosted a website on a remote server (win 2008 / iis 7 / asp). The default page is configured and it was working fine for around 2 months but now for the last two days we have reported a problem site is not accessible by typing the url.

The fun is if I type the url along with the default page i'm getting the site (in IE 7) In mozilla, it is working without mentioning the default or home page.

I'm clueless, How it is working in mozilla and not working in IE 7 and How it was working fine so far and suddenly what happened to the site?

How and why it is not working with IE 7? How to resolve this problem? Help me to sort out this issue.........

As most of the users are using IE 7, I can't delay....

I found the solution just after posted this message. Anybody has this issue continue reading.

1- Push Win+R buttons and execute Run window

2- Copy/Paste this :

%windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe set config -section:system.webServer/httpErrors -errorMode:Detailed

Push enter button and thats all.

Issues in IIS 7, session and application variables are not maintained - Classic ASP site

For local development purpose, I ran following script on VISTA, IIS 7:

It does not show me IP of client, Request.ServerVariables("remote_host") and

(Request.ServerVariables("remote_addr").

on my vista I had IPv 6 and IPv4 both enabled. i dropped IPv6 protocole and now Request.ServerVariables("remote_host") is showing ::1 value earlier it was showing "A6073E5A-D779-472A-8430-9B03999E4121" AS IP

Also I noticed that all values assigned to session and application variables defined in global.asa are not available in other pages of my website means session and application variables are not maintaining. It seems that whole server side variables are not working that were initialized with appliction_OnStart, session_OnStart. Wherein whole ASP siter with no change in code is working fine with IIS 6 (xp/win2k3). But this issues comes within IIS 7. Please help how this can be fixed ?

ASP displaying VB as text

I am trying to run Classic ASP VBscript pages from IIS7 and the HTML renders fine but the VBscript tags I up on the page dont seem to work.

When I run the page the VB comes back as text on the screen. There are no errors that appear either.

Can anyonne help me please?

I am having a nearly identical problem. My classic asp pages work until I use one of the Application, session or server objects, then I get the '8002901d' error as well. Checking Event Viewer / Windows Logs / Application, I have the following entry each time the page is executed

"Error: The Template Persistent Cache initialization failed for Application Pool 'ASP.NET 1.1' because of the following error: Could not create a Disk Cache Sub-directory for the Application Pool. The data may have additional error codes.."

These asp pages worked fine until I installed Vista Service Pack 1, then all fail. I've already lost the restore point to before SP1 was installed, and uninstalling SP1 did not resolve. I've tried every suggestion I could find on the web for IIS 7 setup, but nothing so far has fixed this for me.

HELP!!!

Why isn't IIS 7.0 able to handle .ASP files by default?

I have recently upgraded my OS from XP PRO sp3 to Vista Ultimate x86. When I was working with XP I could access and work with my .ASP files by default using IIS (I think it was ver. 6,0, in contrast to 7.0 that comes with Vista). National charset problem use Request.QueryString method on IIS 7

Hi,

I'm a classic ASP developer and my sites running on IIS 6.0 platform. I want move my sites to IIS 7 platform, but i have problem Request.QueryString method.

Example;
