ASP pages call COM+ VB6 DLL's which in turn call SQL database stored procedures. The DLL's had to be changed because IIS had to be changed from Windows authentication to Anonymous. Since the DLL's were expecting the Windows authentication they didn't work so they had to be changed to use ASPTypeLibrary to get values from session variables. Works great and we put them on our test server and everything tested fine. No changes were necessary for the server.

We then moved them to our staging server and suddenly ASPTypeLibrary doesn't work on that server as nothing comes back from the session variables. The servers were built identically and we have checked every IIS setting we can think of, the services running seem to be the same, and every comparison we can think of is identical. Obviously the code hasn't changed so there must be something server related we're not finding that's different between the two servers.

To check it out more we put the DLL's on another server and they worked fine there too. And a dummy DLL was created to try on the production server and it failed there just like the staging server. So we have 2 servers where they work and 2 where they don't.

We have been trying for a couple days to resolve this since the latest code was supposed to be released to production already so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

How do I Move IIS Sites to a new server?

<cs:applicationKey>web_deployment_tool_wdeploy-39</cs:applicationKey>

Ok I am trying to move a IIS site that is on server 2k running IIS 5 to a 2008 server running IIS 6. I tried to get AVG to delete it but it said it cannot. I heard you can re-install windows vista and also restore default settings but I am not sure if that deletes everything and I'll have to get external hd and if the rootkit would get itself into there and I'd be re-installing a rootkit. This rootkit is screwing up my xps one it tiny ways, it changed all my security setting and turned my anti-viruses off and I can't turn them back on, messed up background, screwed up start menu and toolbar, and the side panel. I just want to know the best way to get this off computer. Thanks in advance.

System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type System.Security.Permissions.StrongNameIdentityPermission

<cs:applicationKey>security--1</cs:applicationKey>

Londons_lion007Thursday, April 23, 2009 9:32:35 AM

I have a serious problem and could use some help. I have taken over an application that was written in .net 1.1 and is using Nhibernate to connect to DB2 on the AS400. The problem I have is that whenever the seesion is over or abandoned the connect stays established to the port on the AS400 port 8471. By right around 4:30 pm I actually run out of user ports on my w2k3 machine ( user ports are 1025 - 5000 by default). I have added MaxUserPort and changed it to 65534. But that does not fix my underlying problem of all these abandoned Open ports. I can get the sessionid but is there anyway to correlate the ports being opened to the sessionid so I can manually close them when the session is ended. Or is there any code I can put in my Global.asax to kill or close the ports associated with that session. I have sent weeks on this issue and it will only get bigger. I have thought about changing for inproc to stateserver or sqlserver that way I can recycle the w3wp.exe in the memory pool without kicking everone off the server, but the original programmer serialized everything within the code, and I don't klnow what will happen to Nhibernate if I remove serilization from the code and change the state . Thanks for all you help .
