  On IIS 7 grant the permissions you want on the directory to the IIS_IUSRS group. For Wordpress give the group write permission to the directory. I run many wp sites on IIS and this has not been an issue for me. good luck.

• PHP memory usage skyrocketing

  I am running Windows Server x64, IIS 7 and php NTS 5.2.8 fastCGI module.  Main application is a wordpress blog with about 60,000 visits per day (about 200,000 page views).  There are other web sites, but they are all samllish compared to this one.  All of a sudden my memory usage went from about 2.2 GB of RAM in use to 3.0 to 3.5 ...
