I've had the most hellish time with the Visual Studio Express 2008 products once SP1 was released - specifically as it relates to adding a feature or a product within the line when other products were installed pre-SP1 and I too wasted hours and hours trying to get SQL Management Studio Express 2008 installed.
I had gotten pretty used ...
