I just VPN'd into the server and tried to leave the field blank. I got the follwoing errors
It appears as though it is using the local IP of the server now (10.10.10.14) and no longer referencing the external IP. Any ideas?? Is there anything good about what I see below?
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode ...

No I did not try to leave it blank. I did not think that was possible. I will have to try that tommorrow when I get into my office. Honestly, it appears as both the port range and external IP are mandatory fields. Thanks, I'll give that a try.

I have a dilemma. I have been forced to relocate my web and FTP server to a location that does not have a static IP. I have already set up a DynDNS account and that seems to be working fine at the moment for the web server. However my FTP has been broken since the move because I had my old static IP set up in IIS7 Firewall Settings (External IP). ...

I have just set up a new ftp server. I am fairly new to FTP an I have a question about how ports are assigned when services are requested. I have a port range like 61000 to 64000 prepared in the firewall and in IIS. The FTP is working but I observed that a new port is assigned after every transaction (LIST, Retrieve, Put).
