It looks like the information for what failed might be in the previous webpi  log. At the top if the log I see "resuming install"   but  only the same failures you noted earlier which are due to dependencies but the dependency failure is not in this log.  Can yu check the the previous log for failures ?

If you are an Admin but this is failing then I suspect its a right or permission that is normally assocatied with Administrators  that is missing. You can try running the installation and using Process Monitor to log activity while you test this. Then check the logs for "access denied" ...

  • Re: Can I change the install drive?

Hi Brad, At this time there is no drive customization for the installations portion and where they are placed will depend on the program. For example IIS components are installed as part of the OS and will be added the the C: drive regardless of the installation method.  But IIS applications will be installed to where ever you configured ...

The IIS features are installed as part of the operating system  and are not downloaded from the web. If the installation is prompting you for the CD and if you do not have the installation CD's then there  is no work around for this.  The hardware and software components for SQL server are listed here ...

Error5 is typically access denied. Are you running as an Administrator?   For more details if this is the only error in the WebPi log . then look at the SQL server logs. How to: View SQL Server Setup Log Files http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143702.aspx  I would begin with detail.txt then look at others if you ...

I am not sure about the E: drive reference but the error that does concern me is  "Could not create tempdb. You may not have enough disk space available. Free additional disk space by deleting other files on the tempdb drive and then restart SQL Server." Do you have free space on your C: drive ? Also could you forward the logs ...

I dont know for sure but I would assume Office 2007 would be installing SQLExpress 2005 so that article may have some relevance but with registry deletions its hard to say if your in the exact same state or not.  But it would not hurt to try. If that does not resolve this I would try to uninstall all SQL  references from Add Remove ...
