The OS version is the only condition (that I know of) which is different between the boxes with high latency vs normal operation.

We've been been using SQL 2008 for a while, so I never tested Windows 2008 with SQL 2005. Maybe you could test one machine outside of the cluster, just to see if you have the same results as we did. If it worked, it would give you a good reason to consider upgrading the entire cluster.

I tried resetting the password on my account, but after I get the confirmation email and enter the new password, I get the following error:
Deactivated User Account
The user you have selected to view or contact has been deactivated by the administrator.
Why?

I finally found the cause of the latency problem! We originally only upgraded the web server to Windows 2008, not the DB server (which was still running Windows 2003). As soon as I set up a new database server on Windows 2008, the problem went away! I have no idea why the OS version would cause a latency issue, but I've confirmed that this ...
