Actually I can. I created a sub directory C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\Microsoft.Web and moved Microsoft.Web.*.dll into that directory. I did have to take ownership of those particular files and then allow administrators full control. But, yes it does work and I now have access to the complete list of features in iis7 on my remote ...

Thanks for providing that detail. You mentioned there is no work-around. Is it not possible to remove the 7.0 versions from the inetsrv directory?

So can you please clarify - this is an issue with the Vista operating system and not with the IIS Management console? And until SP2 is released there is no way to use the IIS Management console to administer IIS on Windows Server 2008 r2? I know it doesn't help but it would be nice to have a little more detail.
Thanks

No, no I didn't. I'm specifically trying to use the IIS Management console. I can use the PowerShell ISE to perform a Get-Process remotely to the server. I can use Event Viewer, Services and the Firewall console to access the server remotely. As I said in my original post, the IIS console connects ok, it only shows the management features ...

I have a Windows 2008 Server Core R2 box and I want to remotely administer IIS on that server from Vista. I can connect to the server using IIS Manager without problem. But IIS Manager only displays the Management features (Feature Delegation, IIS Manager Permissions, IIS Manager Users) and none of the ASP.NET or IIS features. At this point ...
