  now nslookup works and ping works, webpage loads at server but not remotely, remotely ping doesn't work but nslookup does   looking at firewall now

  will putting website in default web site directory in  IIS interfere with localhost ?

  IIS 7 up and running with DNS for 4 web sites server is djc-webit.com with active directory loaded tried to add website www.djc-webit.com as a new zone in dns but wont resolve to site. http:\\djc-webit.com resolves to localhost site any way aroung this?

  It was dns issue and binding in iis, was able to fix thanks for troubleshooting tips

  playing with server 2008 I was able to get 2 test websites working as http://test1.com and http://test2.com.   when I try www.test1.com it wont rsolve. any help appreciated.
