Thank you, and I understand what you are saying...
Upon second thought, I understand that opening ports inbound isn't really a problem as IIS will be tied to it and no other application will be able to accept on it - however, I still would prefer to have a rule that allows all traffic on all ports - that is created or used by ...

Hi
I installed IIS 7.5 on my Windows 7 machine last night for development work.
Basically, I want to run a few sites on different ports - I do not want to have to mess around with hosts files or DNS entries, I simply want to have a few sites active just on localhost and switch between them by port numbers... Then change the home folder when I am ...

I had a quick glance at it (its 5:30AM here!) and it seems to show exactly what I need so thank you so much - I have marked your response as answer.
I did do a search but I am obviously using the wrong search terms - I read throuhg so many pages about security, but nothing covering exactly what I wanted (the IUSR account/group), I will try to ...

to add to my confusion -
I used the default web site with no changes and set to use IUSR.
I have set up php using the fastcgi module and it works, I copied the phpbb files and in the setup it says that cache, files and stores are not writable despite giving the group IIS_IUSRS full control over the directory.
When I ...

Hi
I am using IIS 7 (windows web server 2008) for the first time and I am getting very confused with a few things.

I have create a few test users (test1, test2 ...

Hi
I am Benchmarking and testing PHP on IIS7.
I am following the guide located at
http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/246/using-fastcgi-to-host-php-applications-on-iis-70/
I have set *.php to run with the FastCGIModule, and it seems to run however I am trying to follow the other steps, but under computer name > site ...

Thanks
I just remember when I had some contract work on a good few years ago, I had to spend about 2 days setting it up, it was a nightmare of a job (but the results were very good).
I just followed a link and I was thinking about the good old days as a few of the features sounded very familiar, and I tried looking up ...

Hi
From what I have seen so far, it looks cool.
I was just a bit curious, is this basically, a free, updated Application Server?
I remember that product from a few years ago and thought it had disappeared, but the features of this seem to do the same sort of job.
Thanks
