  • standard COM component crashes application pool - used to work in iis6 now fails in iis7

Posted to IIS7 - Security by pfuser on 09-24-2008, 8:57 AM

Hi, We have a COM component that submits payments to a payment gateway. It has worked fine in iis5 and iis6 but now when we migrate to iis7 it fails. The component usually runs inprocess. The only difference i can see in how iis7 is configured is that we use a shared config and the application pool runs under a new user account which is a ...

Hi, Whenever I open performance monitor with counters to show the number of asp requests/sec, executing requests, sessions, queued requests I am getting a lot of errors in the security event log. Not only this but as soon as I open the performance monitor I see the executing requests and queued requests rising dramatically and the availability to ...

  • Session OnEnd Question

Posted to IIS7 - Classic ASP by pfuser on 09-09-2008, 7:39 PM

Hi, We use the session on_end event in ASP to trigger a few application counters for tracking purposes. In IIS7 the security is somewhat different to IIS6. We host all our ASP on a UNC file share and the application pools are now set to a User configured on the IIS machine and File Server. We then set the Anonyomous Authentication in the IIS ASP ...

  • Big Problem: Cannot Migrate from IIS6 - IIS7

Posted to Web Deployment Tool (MS Deploy) by pfuser on 09-08-2008, 10:27 PM

Hi, I have posted before about this problem but have not had a satisfactory reply. Apparently there is a bug in msdeploy which gives me this error. At the moment I have 1000's of sites to migrate from iis6 to iis7 and cannot do so. Alot of time and money has already been invested into infrastructure and ms software to migrate these sites and ...

Hmmm. I can't remove it from the source as the webserver i'm migrating from is live and will break. There are 1000's of sites setup exactly the same way on the source so they will fail also. How could I remove them all quickly prior to a migration using a script? Preferably if you have fixed it for the next release can you send ...
