actually despite it saying it is off in the firewall config settings the service is still running.
i have stopped the service and the errors have stopped in the event log. i will have to test if this fixes my other issue.

The Windows Firewall is most definitely off. There is no other firewall installed.

Whenever I open performance monitor with counters to show the number of asp requests/sec, executing requests,sessions, queued requests I am getting a lot of errors in the security event log. Hi,
Is it at all pssible if you get the ASP SessionCookie from the request header to then write a module in c++ to get a classic ASP session variable? If not any workarounds apart from stroing session state in a database.

Hi,
We use the session on_end event in ASP to trigger a few application counters for tracking purposes.
In IIS7 the security is somewhat different to IIS6. We host all our ASP on a UNC file share and the application pools are now set to a User configured on the IIS machine and File Server.

I have posted before about this problem but have not had a satisfactory reply.
Apparently there is a bug in msdeploy which gives me this error. At the moment I have 1000's of sites to migrate from iis6 to iis7 and cannot do so. Alot of time and money has already been invested into infrastructure and ms software to migrate these sites and ...

Hmmm. I can't remove it from the source as the webserver i'm migrating from is live and will break. There are 1000's of sites setup exactly the same way on the source so they will fail also. How could I remove them all quickly prior to a migration using a script?

I have a site automatically pointed to a unc share with a valid user and password specified.
When I logon to IIS Manager and click on the site it says Logon Failure
