The term "IIS 7" includes both IIS 7.0 and IIS 7.5.
If you see IIS 7.0, then it is specific to IIS 7.0. Same is true for IIS 7.5.

Hi amackan,
You should look into http://www.iis.net/expand/ApplicationRequestRouting to check if this can replace the NLB you are using. ARR is more advanced and gives you more options to load balance based on different parameters.

You are getting confused because you are seeing "IIS6 Manager" under "Administrative tools". It doesn't mean you have IIS6 running on Win2k8 machine. "IIS6 Manager" is just a way to manage other servers running IIS6 (on Win2k3) remotely from Win2k8 machine.

In order for others to benefit from this post, it will be very helpful if you could post the "solution" to fix this problem.
Thanks.

Why do you feel you have IIS6 as well as IIS7 installed? There is no way you can have IIS6 on Win2k8.

IIS7 also comes with a Default Web Site when you do a clean install of the OS and install IIS.

This is a bug in Vista and Win2k8. It has been fixed in Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2. The bug has been filed and if it gets approved, a patch will be released. At this point, it is not known how long the patch will take if it gets approved.
