Web applications tab is not supported in WebPI on Vista RTM. If you upgrade to Vista SP1, the web apps will be available in WebPI.
Thanks

Hello Cupra: We released v2 RTW for WebPI last week. To get the new version you should just need to launch Web PI and you'll be prompted to upgrade to our RTW. Otherwise you can visit www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx.

@JTomKinser: which Vista version are you running PI on? App installs are not supported on Vista RTM. If you could send along the webpi logs to webpi @ microsoft . com, it can help identify the issue.

Thanks for the update nijjie, am glad the first issue got fixed.
Can you send along the webpi logs from your machine to webpi @ microsoft . com? Should be at %localappdata%\Microsoft\Web Platform Installer\logs\webpi
The logs will help us understand what pi is trying to reinstall everytime you restart your machine.
Thanks

Thanks for reporting this issue. This is a known bug in the WebPI v2 RC on Win7 Pro SKUs. We will be fixing this one for the next PI release.

ysorian:
Sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with WebPI.
It looks like you were trying to install Database Manager for IIS7. To verify that this product actually got installed, you can open inetmgr and verify the IIS DBManager module shows up on the home page.
We would be happy to take a look at the webpi logs to see if there were ...

nijjie: This should be fixed with the current builds. Can you delete the files in the root of the following directory and then test the install again.
%localappdata%\Microsoft\Web Platform Installer\
Let us know if this helps.

As of last evening, we have now added support for PowerShell 2.0. SQL Express can install with either PowerShell 1.0 or PowerShell 2.0. For people who had PowerShell 2.0 the installation would fail when it shouldn't. This issue is now addressed.
Could you delete all the files under %userprofile%\Local ...
