Thanks guys.
We did take a very quick look at UrlScan but it looked a little daunting and not something that we could just plug in and have it automatically fix all our problems :) Probably worth looking at this tool some more though. Does it provide any out of the box config to block unwanted traffic / common spam bots?

Does anyone have a set of rules to block common spam bots? We are getting hit with the "Java/*" bots on a regular basis and I am thinking it is time to start blocking these type of requests. I am hesitant to start writing my own rules in case I unintentionally block valid traffic!

In my other post, Daniel mentioned that the caching doesn't look at the querystring and that this has been fixed in the next release.
We have run the registry import to disable caching but are still seeing problems with the wrong URL being rewritten (extra querystring being added ...

To save coding that on every page or having to use a base class for your pages, you could use a custom HtmlTextWriter that sets the action attribute on the form using the HTTP_X_ORIGINAL_URL value. This is real easy to do with control adapters and an app.browser file, e.g.

Hey Daniel,
I'm a little confused! Your original response to my post pointed to a blog that talked about disabling kernel caching. So, we did that to hopefully resolve this problem and it did seem to help a little but it sounds like there is actually a bug that you have fixed.
But, it sounds like we shouldn't disable kernel cache so ...

Hi Daniel,
We have changed the setting in IIS and unchecked "Enable kernel cache" in the output cache settings of the website. However, we are still seeing incorrect URLs being dished up from the rewrite module in the latest RTM version. Should it be enough to just change that setting in IIS or do we need to do something more?

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the follow-up. We disabled the kernel cache in the IIS settings for the website and the problem doesn't seem to have surfaced again yet. Is it OK to change that setting in IIS or should we be disabling the rewrite cache using the reg edit?

We have upgraded from the preview version to the live version and are experiencing what might be an issue with the caching of the URL rewrites (it didn't happen with the preview version).
We have a simple redirect for a few of our pages that switches into secure mode, e.g. /Login is rewritten to Login.aspx. We use forms ...

Thanks. I am currently working with someone from MS on this issue and have supplied FRT logs. These don't pinpoint the problem although it does appear to be an issue with being stuck in a flush so it is probably not the same as the issue in that other thread.

Why oh why is the Edit Bindings window so tiny and non-resizable? From what I can see, the list is not sorted either so when you have a lot of entries in the list it is very cumbersome.
If the intention was to make something that should be real simple as difficult as possible to use...then I think we have a resounding succees!
