    can anyone tell me if you can enable central configuration in IIS7 via command line instead of the GUI? i am trying to script this step in our rollout and connect to an existing share. any guidance is appreciated.

    i am able to install the web server role via command line or unattended install with no issues, however i cannot seem to get the commands correct (or determine if it is even possible) to install the Application Server feature via command line or unattended install. can anyone point me in the right direction? i can find examples all over for all ...

    i found the answer. at least for my situation. in IIS, in the configuration area (directory tab), ensure there is not a setting for .xls (mine was pointing to the asp dll). remove that, reset iis and let the browser handle what to open the file with.

    were you able to find a solution? i am having a similar issue with one of my clusters. one cluster serves it fine, giving the user the good ol' open/save/cancel dialogue, whereas another cluster (built from the same "recipe") gives a plain ol' "The page cannot be displayed" error... neither has a mime type in IIS ...
