Posting the following which we found offline in the SQL logs found in this location

A previous release of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 is installed on this computer. Upgrade Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 to the SP1 before installing SQL Server 2008.

Exception type: Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.RulesEngineExtension.RulesEngineRuleFailureException

Message:

Here is the download link for the Visual Studio Sp1 service pack which resolved the SQL problem.

After installing SQL Server 2008 Express i have tried to installed Management Studio Express and every time i get;

DownloadManager Error: 0 : Install return code for product 'SQL Server 2008 Management Studio Express' is Failure

Anyone got any suggestions. It seems similar to problems that others are having, but i can't find the same error code.
