Hi Jettlejohn,

The error at the top of the log does not look related to the issue with Visual Web Developer so we will have to do some further investigation of the Visual Studio installation logs.

Failed Installation of Visual Web Developer 2008 Express using Web Platform Installer

I have installed SQL Server 2008 Express but Visual Web Developer 2008 Express installation fails. My OS is XP SP2. I do also have SQL Server 2005 Express installed but changed the name of the instance when installing 2008 in order to get them both installed. Could this be part of my problem? Any help or advice would be appreciated. The log follows:
