While the results of SQL not failing it does appear that your failures may be from different root causes due to the different return codes returned from the installer. (2147467259 and 2068578304 ) . To examine this further the location of the SQL logs can be found here.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\<DateTimeStamp>

Hi Ian,

I have the same problem! I've even done a fresh install of my operating system. Although, I am using Windows 7 OS at the moment. Perhaps this is an issue? It does give me a warning about "known compatibility issues" but a quick google search shows that many people have installed this successfully!

Any help would be appreciated.

SQL Server 2008 Install Failure Code 2147467259

I have spend at least 6 hrs trying to install SQL Server 2008. I am not one to give up. But, I am exhausted trying to figure it out. I have read the pre-requisites and I think I am good to go. I do not know what my problem is.

Can anybody please help me here?

Here is the last few lines of my log file.
