Search for Live Smooth Streaming. It is still in beta, but you can see what it does.

If the first is possible (isn't that how olympics were done?), how do you do it then? Right now I use expression encoder, set my bitrate at 500 and push to my web server which broadcasts it to my viewers. In live broadcasting I have no option anywhere to broadcast multiple bit rates to the server. The only way I can see this work is if this Smooth Streaming extension actually does the encoding on the fly, which I don't think it does.

Can someone clear this up for me?

Thanks,
