Thanks for trying it out, please let us know if you have any feedback for us.

Meanwhile, for Web Playlists, we actually return an asx in the response. It looks like below.

Having said that, you are right, in your scneario asx might actually work better since you want to share playlists. Web Playlists tries to protect your content from sharing by using GUIDs in the URL. This may not work for you since these GUIDs have a lifetime and limit on how many people can connect (both these values are configurable).

Cheers

Vishal

yes i have tried bitrate throttle that is switched on but web playlist i create the .isx file

but it will not open in my browser at all ? the way i done this means the .asx file is a wm playlist so you can choose a song in the pane and it plays (at my other broadband end)

also my phone is wi-fi wi-lan enabled so any hot spots i can do the same

pm me and i will send you a link to your favourite song

MANY THANKS

Have you also tried installing Bit Rate Throttling, Web Playlists along with this. Web Playlists would can import client side playlists asx and then give you a single url that you can play from anywhere.

Make a new folder in any hard drive on your pc and call it my music (note the drive letter)
Mine is in C::// so any reference to my C://MyMusic will be your whatever drive letter.
In ISS7, in your website add a virtual directory, give it a alias of music then point the physical path to the music folder you just created.
Mine is C://MyMusic
Open windows media player and open all the music you have put in your music folder, it can be one song, one album or 10000 albums, it doesn't matter, it's basically a windows media player playlist, which if you have you can convert in the same way.
Once you have all the music to play in windows media player and it's playing, select file, save now playing as... in the box that appears drop the save as down, and select any file, name it whatever.asx and save it to desktop.
Right click your saved whatever.asx file and click open in notepad.
Find the line that says
<Param Name = "SourceURL" Value = "C:\MY MUSIC\any file.mp3" />
Copy the bit C:\MY MUSIC\
and go to edit, select replace
in find what, paste what you have just copied,
in replace with, type your url "http://yourdomain.com/music/"
then select replace all.
Scroll down your .asx file and find <Ref href = "..\MY MUSIC\any file.mp3"/>
copy the ..\MY MUSIC\ (don't forget the ..\) again go to edit,
replace, in find what paste ..\MY MUSIC\, in replace with type (if it's not already there) http://yourdomain.com/music/
then save as
send, take or link to this .asx file to anywhere you want, it works on vista, xp, windows mobile 6 and 6.1, it will also work with .wnv files proving they're small enough and you have the upload bandwidth.

Have Fun :) !
MANY THANKS.
DREA
