Before the changes were made to the internal DNS I just went into my hosts file and added:

"x.x.x.x host header"

I noticed right away that the sites took forever to load, even if I would refresh it. However, as soon as the changes were made to the dns the sites came up as quick as they did in IIS6.

Hope that helps!

IIS7 Slow to Display Webpage

I’m new to IIS7 and unfortunately not that converse in IIS6 but always get by. I have a test page, along with the default IIS7 page, that takes about ten seconds to load once you enter the IP address - the ping response however is instant. The public IP address is forwarded via ISA 2K4 to a 2K8 Server running IIS7 in a perimeter network. Each of the two pages takes this ten seconds or so to load and even when you just refresh the pages which is causing the system to be unworkable.

I have other small sites running on 2K3 Server under IIS6 which are also using the same ISA 2K4 server to forward the traffic but they are inside our corp network. I don’t see that this set-up is really any different and they load very quickly.

I suppose I’ll have to set-up a 2K3 server running IIS6 and place that in the perimeter network just to prove it’s not the network topology but I just don’t see how it can be. It must be something to do with IIS7. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
