Thanks, Bill. I spent all of last night (until about 4am) working on some changes to this. I'll have a new version of the tool out sometime this week (I'm pushing myself to have it out on Thursday night). THe new version reduces the code set and cleans it up considerably. It also has UI working for central logging configuration and site defaults. I'll keep updating it as long as others are interested in the work.

yeah, yeah, guys, I know, we're lame. Sorry we took the logging UI out from Vista. It was a little 'rough around the edges' and so we removed it. The good news is that it is already back in the builds for SP1. And of course Longhorn Server.

In the mean time, one of our writers has built a UI module that helps set it up. He is going to post it real-soon, so look for it under "Downloads".

I was just about to make a thread about this! I thought I had installed IIS7 wrong because I could find nothing about logging in the GUI, glad to see it's not just me. (Personally I think IIS7 is still a little rough around the edges.)

Can you, or someone, explain how to customize what gets logged by using the configuration files?

Yeah, I was kind of befuddled assuming it was there. I spent an evening looking for an answer + learning how to set this using all the geek tools, but the 'GUI way' was 'no way'. Ole well hopefully the PM who did the GUI will provide an answer or Bill Staples.

Is there a reason why Vista Ultimate edition IIS 7 manager doesn't have logging options listed under the behavior section. I've found how to set using appcmd and in the configuration files but not in the GUI. Is this by design?
