I've been in touch with OKI's UK software office and had some joy. They pointed me at a new release of the software (ver 3.6) which resolves the issue. I have installed it and tested and my problem has indeed gone away. You might like to try it. The URL to go to is:

http://www.okiprintingsolutions.co.uk/fcgi-bin/public.fcgi?pid=155&cid=125&prid=715&pdflag=2&bdid=29397

You have to register, then it sends an email with a link to download the software.

Regards,

We also had Apache server, so I shut it down in case there were any conflicts. In shutting those things down, stuff like McAfee ePO and Microsoft's WSUS were all shut off. However, still no luck. So then I started going through my Services and stopping them. When I saw the Oki PrintSuperVisor it jumped out at me because I remembered it had been installed just about a week ago, which I thought was roughly when the problem started.

I literally had Event Viewer open as I was doing this and would just refresh it after each minute to see if another stop/start cycle had been logged. When I shut down PrintSuperVisor suddenly IIS didn't stop! I was a very happy camper!!

And if you get any answers from Oki, I'd be keen to hear.

Cheers,

Philip

Re: Something is Stopping IIS

Whao..... good stuff.
This will be hard to troubleshoot.... even with process explorer.

Re: Something is Stopping IIS

Philip,

Just de-installed it and the problem is resolved. I got the printer through our landlord, who does BIG business with OKI. Later this morning I shall be asking him for the details of a technical contact there to ***.

Many thanks, fellow Aussie.
