Options in Application Server Component

How do you get ASP.NET to show up on the list of options in the Application Server Component ? I am using 2003 x64

I am following some directions and it says to check the box on ASP.NET option but this option does not exist !

I have read numerous tutorals, and when I attempt to run the following suggested command from the cmd line, my computer tells me it cannot find the specified path....which makes no sense. the path is correct.

%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\vxxxxxx\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

regsvr32 %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\vxxxxxx\aspnet_isapi.dll

of course replacing the vxxxxetc with my v2x number.

Even when I use the complete path starting at c:\Windows...etc.

Why would it tell me that it can't find the path, when the path is correct, and the specified folder is where it's supposed to be. I don't get it.

Any assistance would be appreciated. WCW

Hi All, wise iis and .net gurus.
I got a problem. I do a simple thing, upload files to server. I just paste a upload control and then call to the "saveAs" method of that control. Easy. The trouble is that it works too good in a development enviroment, but it fails when I deploy it to the production server.
I already give permissions to the {computersName}\ASPNET user, I already write in web.config < identity impersonate="true" /> and it is inside the correct section (system.web)..
I always try to find the solution in older post before I post the same question, but every post I have found say that I already did: give permisions to ASPNET user or impersonate ASP. I have try impersonate with another users, the computer administrator, and nothing happens I almost get crazy with this, I have stuck by hours.
So, anybody knows something that I could missed? . I upload the files to a directory that is not the same that the application: The app is in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\A\ and I upload to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\X\
I am just start to think if I should make an exorcism to the server, but I don't know if would work. .
.

We are trying to decide between just removing the ASP.NET_2.0.50727.0 isapi filter or keeping it and renaming the /bin directory and changing the corresponding code.

Any references to ASP.NET_2.0.50727.0 isapi filter specifics applicable to non asp.net requests would be appreciated.

I have multiple w2k3 servers running iis6 with FastCGI 1.5 (x86) RC, and php-5.2.9-2-nts-Win32

After 2k3r2 sp2 and various security patches were installed now getting 404 errors from \bin directory files.

Although I do not run asp.net code (the asp.net framework is installed on the server), the servers that were updated now have the following iis isapi filter enabled:

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_filter.dll

Could not access Access db

Hi all

My application has driven me crazy. It works fine at my home deve machine , it works fine in my work dev machine, and it works fine in my work local server. But when i deploy to live (a new server), it crashed!!!

It can display my login page, but when i tried to login, it couldnt connect to my access database. my access database is at C:\wwwroot\TUV_MGB_PROJECT_MANAGEMENT\App_Data\ASPNetDB.mdb

Unable to register ASP.NET 3.5 with IIS

I'm running on XP Pro SP2 with IIS 5.1 trying to create a web app with MVC 2.0. It runs in the dev server, but I need to run it on IIS. I assume it needs .NET 3.5. I downloaded and re-installed 3.5 with SP1. When I try executing aspnet_regiis -i it fails saying "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142).

I have an app that has been running for the last 2 years. ASP.NET 2.0 on Win 2003, IIS6. Also in the mix is WebOrb as a "service" layer between Flash/Flex elements and the ASP.NET app and libraries.

Just recently, DateTime objects being passed from Flash/Flex to .NET will come in as UTC adjusted instead of maintaining the Offset. In other words, when flash/flex passes in "11/10/2009 15:27:23 CST -07:00" I am getting "11/11/2009 00:27:23". Because of this, most of our analytics are hosed.

I am wondering if anyone knows if a recent patch may have changed this type of behavior. (I know how to code to fix this problem so don't need help there.)

We've got a very strange problem on some of our Windows Server 2003 web servers (not all):

We've configured some web sites running on ASP.NET 1.1.
Underneath these sites there is a virtual directory running on ASP.NET 2.0 in a separate application pool. Of course I know that we cannot run 1.1 and 2.0 applications in the same pool. But altough we strictly separated the applications into different pools we get the following error:

It is not possible to run two different versions of ASP.NET in the same IIS process. Please use the IIS Administration Tool to reconfigure your server to run the application in a separate process.

We've checked the configuration several times, also with metabase explorer, but we cannot find any problem.

It seems that the app pool from the 1.1 web site is inherited internally and invisible to the virtual directory below.

Any hints would be great!

I have a small test website developed using Web Developer Express 2008. I have installed IIS 7 on a Windows 7 PC and successfully got the website to work on that platform.

I now want to put the website on a Windows Server 2003 server. I used Web Platform Installer 2.0 to install IIS 6 on the server. When I try to access, for example, default.aspx I get a 404 error. Possibly significant is that default.aspx has a Master Page.

Standard HTML pages work just fine; it's the ASPX pages that won't work.

What do I need to do to make ASPX pages work correctly on IIS 6 on Server 2003?

ASP.Net web server main page goes down

Our web server is running ASP.NET version 1.1. The main page is an aspx page, the subwebs are all asp or html pages. Once or twice a week the main page goes down, but the other pages are still up. The main page displays the error: Server Error in '/' Application. Exception details: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Not enough space on temporary disk. There is nothing in any of the logs that explains the error. Which disk is it referring to?

hi everyone.

I am new to web development and I am facing a problem in deploying an asp.net website on IIS 6.0 .

I just copied my precompiled website folder on production server via smart FTP and then i created a virtual directory of my website using IIS manager. Now the problem is this that website is browsing well in IIS and running on web brwoser production server by giving its url(www.mysite.com:port).

But when I run it on internet means on any other computer than production, the browser is unable to open the site.

Browser's Messagee: server not found. cant find server at www.mysite.com

and IE says: page can not be displayed.

Someone help me out.

DNN/ASP/IIS6 Large File Upload Problems

a have a 2003R2 server running IIS 6 with a DNN 5.1.4 install... I am having great difficulty uploading large files through HTTP with the DNN apps. All the forums and info point to settings in either web.config, or machine.config. I have set the web.config set to the following for the app in question.

which should allow me to upload 100M files to the site.

When I start the upload it runs for approx. 300 seconds (5 min) give or take 20 seconds before it bombs and gives a 404 page cannot be found internet connection or dns blah blah blah...

I have tried increasing every connection timeout I can find in IIS... I have made sure that my apppool did not recycle, even made sure that it did not write the file to disk by increasing the requestLengthDiskThreshold to the max file size as well...

I'm struggling as to wheter this is a IIS problem, ASP.net problem or what...

Output caching with IIS 6

Hi, Not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but I have created a page that uses a Masterpage, and has output caching enabled. When I test it on the local development server (repository) running IIS 6.0 on Windows 2003 the caching works as expected. When I test on the live server also running Windows 2003 and IIS 6.0, it does not work. The page has VaryByParams="none", so possibly something to do with Kernel caching (I've read quite a bit about this, though not sure I totally understand nuances of Kernel mode, HTTP.sys, etc.)? Web Application not accessible after installing 3.5 SP1

I have one problem. Previously i have MS.Net visual studio 2005 on my windows 2003 server. So it had .net Framework 2.0 version. I developed 2 asp.net web application for our company using this. it works fine from 1 year. But yesterday i just installed only .net framework 3.5 SP1 on it. After istalling it requires Restart the server, but due to work on it i restart later. But after istallation i experienced one problem. Both of appication published two times in 4 virtual directory for 2 company. one application(means both published content) accessed with no problem. it access from every pc in my company, But when i tried to access another application it runs fine 1st time but after that it didnot open. Only i feel that the prograss bar of IE blinks. but no page open. But from another pc it opened. some time i access that application on my server but not from client pc. and viceversa

After kill the w3wp.exe process it work fine 1 time. then the same problem happens. Please tell me how to solve this problem. I uninstalled .net Framework 3.5 SP1 and restarted the PC. but same problem happens.

It is very urgent.

When I´m trying to enable aspnet_isapi.dll to handle .* i get this stupid error: "Wrint extension format".

Is it somehow possible to enable wildcard mapping (used to urlrewrite) in iis 5.1 -> Windows XP?

I developed my asp.net project using VS 2008 and it's working fine in my development machine. But when deploy and upload into my web server is a Windows server 2003 web edition with .Net framework 2.0 , 3.5 and 3.5 SP1 installed. the following error occur .

But when we try to deploy it into another web server 2003 standard edition, everything is working fine.

Is anyone facing this problem before? and any solution to solved it?

web.config inheritance

Ihave an existing Website that is define at the root level and is compiled against .net 2.0. We have several virtual directories defined that run just fine. I have added a new virtual directory to test an updated application against .net 3.5.

The web.config file for the update application is now conflicting against the root web.config in the <configSections> tag.

Any suggestions on how I can not inherit from the root.

This code worked on our old deployment server but not on our new server. I set a specific directory it works, but I have compiled outdated code that needs the IIS reference to work.

It doesn't seem to be a security problem as System.Net.Mail.IisPickupDirectory.GetPickupDirectory() is not returning a security exception.

I am not sure if something is off in the metabase or what it is.

I need to get this working ASAP. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Basically for anything i've tried below IIS7 returns 200 OK no matter what. IIS7 reacts correctly or rather asp.net reacts correctly on IIS7 and returns the expected status code. Is there any way of getting the correct status code from IIS when not running 7.0?

Overriding Root Web Config File (EL 3.1 and 2.0)

Hello, we already have this Root Web App that is configured via Enterprise Library 2.0 and there is this new application that was decided to be a Sub Web App which should run on the same DNS, the problem is that it is configured via Enterprise Library 3.1.

Several configuration sections such as logging, exception handling and data configuration block are already present on the root web config thus, the latest one is encountering concerns.

Parser Error Message: Section or group name 'loggingConfiguration' is already defined. Updates to this may only occur at the configuration level where it is defined.

We have already tried, the <remove> and <clear> methods but niether of which work wonders. I've also read about the EL DLL modification but for our case this is not advisable since the EL is shared on multiple other applications within the box.

In short note, is there any other way for the sub web application not to inherit the web.config of the root web application?

** Our last resort is to create a seperate web site.
