Well, a couple things you should look at, the first is to see (by looking at your logs) which files are not being cached (for example, IE is receiving a 200 instead of 304 Not Modified status when it sends it's "give me a file newer than this" request).

This may also be due to some aspx (or other scripts) pages that you've added to the site that aren't set up to be cached. If you give us a better sense for what content isn't caching, then we can recommend ways to look at improving the cacheability of that content.

Yes. I know the definition.. but I can't find anywhere, how to stop this from happening. What setting I'm I missing on my IIS caching setup thats causing "cache file misses".

IIS6 caching problem

I enabled a few registry settings based on my needs in order to cache all files.

Looking at the "Current Files cached" and "total files cached" counters, I can see that IIS is caching most of my web content.. which is what we wanted.

The problem is that the site performance is the same as before and the "file cache misses" counter keeps going up and up.

How can I troubleshoot "File cache misses"?

Any help will be appreciated.
