noob - installed IIS 7.5 on Windows7; created a website; browser can't get there

    Sep 02, 2010 03:16 PM|LINK

I just enabled IIS 7.5 on a Windows7 Ultimate system. Then I created a new website, but when I try to navigate to it (by clicking Browse from within the IIS management console) I go to the website: "http://dnssearch.rr.com/?q=www.MyFirstWebSite.com&con=nxd". Does anyone know why I can't navigate to the site? I can navigate to "http://localhost/" (the "Default Web Site") no problem. I have a local directory (Physical path) and web page there. I am using the DefaultAppPool. Bindings are "http:*:80:www.MyFirstWebSite.com,ftp:*:21:" and the folder: "%SystemDrive%\inetpub\logs\FailedReqLogFiles" is empty (I turned on logging, or so I thought) Thanks, Dave p.s. Right now I am just trying to set up an intranet
