recently turned off anonymous, however there are log entries with a 530 but also the 'sent' message, see example below, I can't trace the IP for now and am curious if anonymous can stll login if they have the password for the 'iusr_' machine account previously

Fields: time c-ip cs-method cs-uri-stem sc-status sc-win32-status
The 530 status usually indicates access denied. Verify if the file referenced in the log is in fact at the path location.

If you turned off anonymous access then it should be easy for you to test. If you can upload anything then you know it's not configured properly. Here's a good tutorial on configuring FTP Isolation.
