we want to configurate a FTP Server on our Windows Web Server 2008. Everything works fine so far. We installed FTP 7.5 and created a IIS User. We linked the User with a FTP Site and now i tried to connect to the FTP Site. It has 2 Accounts. One is a Windows-User
"Administrator", the other one is a IIS User "ftptest".
When i connect with the Windows-User everything works fine. When i connect with the IIS-User i get an "530 User cannot log in."-Error. The FTP-Authentication for IisManagerAuth is active. The FTP-Autorisation allows the User "ftptest".
Google said, that i need to install the "FTP Extensibility" but there is no such Role Service in Windows Web Server 2008. Is there any way to connect to my FTP-Site with IIS Users?
Sorry for my (propably) bad english :)

Still no answer on this post, so i try to explain our problem once more.
We have a root server with the "Windows Web Server"-OS. IIS 7 and IIS 6 are installed. I followed the tutorial on this site
except the ICACLS commands, because every time i get an error message "No mapping between account names and security IDs was done" (dont know the correct error message in english)
I can connect with any Windows-User or anonymous. But if i use an IIS-Manager-User i get an error Message. 530 User cannot log in

I have followed the tutorial you provided and reproduced this 530 error. I aslo execute the ICACLS commands, error still occurs. So I guess your errir is not related to this. After reproducing this error, I try to find resolution for it. However, none I
find. I guess this article might have some confused place and lack some detailed step. When you create an IIS Manager user(ftpmanager) with IIS Manager user under the Server level. It's ok, and the ftpmanger does be created successfully. Anyway I can't use
it to access the "my new ftp site", neither the administrator. I find the ftp site on tree control and double click the authentication, find the anonymous and basic authentication are disabled. So I enable the basic authentication, now I can use administrator
account to login ftp site, but not ftpmanager. Very weird. I conntinue to find other solution make the ftpmanager login ftp site successfully. I create a windows user(the user name and password are the same as ftpmanager) on Edit Local User and Groups(Local).
And now the ftpmanager works fine and login ftp site successfully.
The steps above I execute under a domain account loging on my web server.
Now I log on my web server as administrator, and follow the steps the tutorial below provided to create another ftp site and create an IIS USER named testuser. After finish all steps, I use the testuser to login ftp site. Successfully.
Conclusion: If I log on my web server with administrator. None error occurs. If it's non-administrator account. Addtional jobs need to do as I mentioned above.

Sorry for my late reply, but we changed the Server anyway, so the problem was not that urgent anymore.
I found my error. A really, really stupid error.
Windows translates the "Network Service"-Systemuser into the selected language. We dont use an english OS but German. The "ICALCS"-Commands had to use the "Netzwerkdienst"-User instead of "Network Service"-User.
Why does Windows translate SYSTEMuser into the defined language?
Anyway. Thanks for your reply and : problem solved
