I just installed WinCache 1.2.1208 on one server to replace the build 614. The server runs under Windows Server 2003 + IIS6 + FastCGI 1.5 + PHP 5.3.8.
I have a problem when I execute the installation EXE file (wincache-1.2.1208-dev-5.3-nts-vc9-x86.exe). I obtain a Windows popup saying the file is not valid. File size is good yet. I precise that it is just an installation/extract problem. I do not have
this extraction problem with the build 614 installer.
If I execute the file under an other host (a Windows 7 PC for exemple), I can extract well the files. I copy then the extracted files on the 2003 Server and the build 1208 runs fine for the moment.
Anything has changed to build the installer EXE file ?
Just an other question, What is the PDB file included in the 1208 archive ?
I never had problem when downloading files from SourceForge (WinCache or other project) so I think it is not the source of this problem. Yet, I just tried your both solutions: Mirror download then download after cookie deletion. But same problem.
The exact error message is (after translation):
The image file E:\................\wincache-1.2.1208-dev-5.3-nts-vc9-x86.exe is valid, but it is for a different type of computer than the actual computer.

The error your getting " I obtain a Windows popup saying the file is not valid. File size is good yet."
The size may be correct and still have a validation problems.
Anything has changed to build the installer EXE file: AFAIK nothing has changed.
What is the PDB file included in the 1208: The PDB is for debugging.
Edit: Old Forum post http://forums.iis.net/t/1171395.aspx corrupted file.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem on Windows XP SP3.
"wincache-1.2.1208-dev-5.3-nts-vc9-x86.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

Thanks cwise for your testimony.
This confirms there is an incompatibility between the build 1208 installer and NT 5.x systems.

I just downloaded the Wincache dev 1.2.1208 installer package.
They have a problem with the file it is not correct.

Just re-downloaded the file from two different SourceForge mirrors (freefr and switch) but I have yet the same execution error...
No news from Ruslany for the moment :(

Hi,
I have been looking over this thread posts and replies:
A) The Build 1208 dev Installer was bad and was corrected.
B) There maybe an incompatibility issue with Build 1208 installer and NT 5.x systems.
C) The Wincache http://www.iis.net/download/WinCacheForPhp
release 1.1 is supported and works on NT 5.1 Systems.
Looks like a combination of errors at the same time.
