Hey, Windows 7 comes with IIS7, as far as I know there is not way to install IIS6 on Windows 7.
It seems you mis typed IIS6.
Considering that you installed IIS7. Check services related to IIS in Service MMC.

Hi,
FYI: The Picture in the post is linked wrong and can not be viewed.
No you can not install IIS 6.0 on Windows 7 . The IIS Server by version is http://forums.iis.net/p/1171695/1984536.aspx#1984536 .
The Managment Console is for this
http://blogs.iis.net/chrisad/archive/2007/01/03/managing-iis-6-0-servers-from-windows-vista-and-other-management-stuff.aspx
I suggest you look at this http://www.iis.net/download/IISManager IIS Guide and Video.

Nice Picture now that it can be seen.:D.
Please read Microsoft Support Article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224609 it lists the IIS Servers than are butil-in with the OS.
As the Microsoft Support Article points out IIS Server 6.0 is Tied to the Operating System and IIS 6.0 does not come with Windows 7.
If you want IIS 6.0 Server get a Machine then install Windows 2003 and IIS 6.0 server you can then connect to the IIS 6.0 Server.

Image and the message clearly shows that you are using IIS6 MMC console to connect IIS7.5 webserver installed in backend.
Message shows that you have IIS7.5 installed and you are using II6 mmc console.

You installed the managemnt console for IIS6 (used and installed with the compability mode) thinking it installed IIS7.x. Just use the normal IIS7 management consule to access IIS7.x sites.
