    http.sys

I understand http.sys is embedded in the kernel for better performance instead of using winsock.

I recently reviewed the http.sys hoping it would reveal some leads on IE hangs and application locks being experienced on a mission critical application.

I found a lot of 400 errors for a specific file and timeouts for other files..... lots of timeouts.... i guess my question being a newbie at this is, if you found this in this log, what would be the next step to lowering the error log of 400 errors and timeouts?

Have you looked in the c:\windows\system32\logfiles\httperr logs?  This can help provide some direction.

    Re: http.sys

That is where I found the errors. I am unsure if those errors are related. Do you know how I could possibly link the two if at all possible?

One of the 400 errors happens on a javascript file that contains all of the browsertool functionlity for the application.

If I am not being clear, I apologize.

    Hi,

More information may be required to find the cause of this.

    i) Could you provide the 400 error message and time-outs messages here. Put some log information here.

    i) Do you find this issue for certain specific pages, or randomly across various pages.

ii)Do you have multiple sites hosted. And is this issue occuring across all wesites.

iii)Do we have a Network Load balancing in place, or is it a single machine.

iii) If it is only one web application facing this issue, and some specific pages, then what are we performing in those pages.

Once we have these, we may get some idea as to which direction we need to move.

    Answered Re: http.sys

     i got it figured out.

i threw on process monitor to catch the error by w3pw.exe (i think i got it wrong).

I was able to capture the sequence of files up until the error and found the glitch.

     thanks for all your help.
