DotNetNuke-Create new database

I'm a newbee. Computer literate with no Web design experience. I've struggled through downloading MS Visual Web Developer 2008 Express and all related packages on 28.8k dial-up. It took almost 90 hours over a week. Still waiting for broadband in the sticks. I'm in the startup stages of a WISP to provide broadband to rural residents in my area and am trying to develop a website. I used the Web Platform Installer 2.0. I'm using an XP machine. The downloads and installs were flawless.

My problem is with the Starter Kits. Upon downloading and installing DotNetNuke 05.01.04, I get the error message "login failed for user 'sa'. I tried to solve this by reading many posts on this forum. After reading, I am convinced that the error is caused by one of two conditions. It is either a password problem or Server Authenication Mode. During the install process at some point I was asked for a user name and password. There was a lot of late night downloading and I'm not sure what I entered. There are about two possible user names and three possible passwords. Since this point I have been keeping a log of all input, sorry for the lapse in judgement.

I have three problems that prevent me from resolving this issue. 1) I can not find the WPI logs. I don't have a "Users" sub-directory on C:\. 2) I don't understand the process explained for changing the password. 3) I don't understand the process explained for changing the Server Authenication Mode. Can you explain "Log into the SQL Server as Windows Admin"? I apoligize for my lack of knowledge and understanding. Please give me a crash course for "dummies".

I found the log files.

Here are the latest log files. As you can see, I've tried every possible combination of username and password that I might have used on WPI wizard while installing SQL Server.

I'm a newbee. Computer literate with no Web design experience. I've struggled through downloading MS Visual Web Developer 2008 Express and all related packages on 28.8k dial-up. It took almost 90 hours over a week. Still waiting for broadband in the sticks. I'm in the startup stages of a WISP to provide broadband to rural residents in my area and am trying to develop a website. I used the Web Platform Installer 2.0. I'm using an XP machine. The downloads and installs were flawless.

My problem is with the Starter Kits. Upon downloading and installing DotNetNuke 05.01.04, I get the error message "login failed for user 'sa'. I tried to solve this by reading many posts on this forum. After reading, I am convinced that the error is caused by one of two conditions. It is either a password problem or Server Authenication Mode. During the install process at some point I was asked for a user name and password. There was a lot of late night downloading and I'm not sure what I entered. There are about two possible user names and three possible passwords. Since this point I have been keeping a log of all input, sorry for the lapse in judgement.

I have three problems that prevent me from resolving this issue. 1) I can not find the WPI logs. I don't have a "Users" sub-directory on C:\. 2) I don't understand the process explained for changing the password. 3) I don't understand the process explained for changing the Server Authenication Mode. Can you explain "Log into the SQL Server as Windows Admin"? I apoligize for my lack of knowledge and understanding. Please give me a crash course for "dummies".

I guess I can go to that forum. I've seen about 6 -10 posts on here with the same problem i have though. Also it is AN SQL Server problem if you will check my post. I posted my log files hours ago but they did not show up. Here they are again.
