  SQL Express 2008 Installation fails on 2 PC's Reply Contact Hi All,  I really hope someone is able to help with this! I am trying to install the Web designer but every time I try the installation fails with the error, We're Sorry, The following products have failed to install. SQL Server Express 2008 with Service Pack1. This product did not install successfully. I have read several posts and some say to read the log files which are situated in %Program Files%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootsrap. But after each installation attempt this directory just doesn't exist!! Please help! Thanks Mansel160

  Re: SQL Express 2008 Installation fails on 2 PC's Reply Contact Unfortunately this log does not provide enough detail and we'll have to find the SQL setup logs. The following has a reference to these. 955396 How to troubleshoot SQL Server 2008 Setup issues http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;955396 I am not sure how the logs would not be in the path you specified but you can try searching your machine for  Details.txt  as another way to find the logs.
