Problem with HTTP Streaming in Windows Media Services

I have Windows Server 2008 with both HTTP and RTSP streaming set up and as an option.

These links will play off my server:

    http://74.208.171.60/FGM-Streams/Johnson/090723-Bill_Johnson-Pour_Out_Your_Spirit-Thurs_PM.wmv  HTTP

    mms://74.208.144.19/FGM-Streams/Johnson/090723-Bill_Johnson-Pour_Out_Your_Spirit-Thurs_PM.wmv   RTSP

Both Start but the HTTP will stop at say 40 seconds and the RTSP will play for over two hours.  It's the same file.  Same server.  Same directory.

Any idea how I can over come the failure?

    Thank you for helping me.

Re: Problem with HTTP Streaming in Windows Media Services

Do you mind trying it a little longer?  It stops for me every time and it's less than 2 minutes. It's strange but on my Windows XP Pro computer is will always stop after a couple of minutes but it's way past that point streaming using Quictime on a MacBook Pro.  Teh same file coming from the same server but using mms: plays just fine al the way through.

I have been reading about people swithching to HTTP streaming but for years  I have streamed on servers using mms:  I am begining to do some Silverlight streamig which of course is using HTTP.

I was hoping that using the HTTP link for streaming might stop some of the problems I run into with people saying they can't make a conecction to my live or on demand streams.

Do you think it's better to use the HTTP over the mms?  Thandk you for your time.
