Can't see webpage LocalHost, but can externally

This has to be the strangest error I have ever ran into. I can enable default website IIS has and view it at LocalHost, 127.0.01, or IP, but my website I cannot. I have tried using 127.0.0.0:80/FilePath and it still returns a 404 but when I use my external IP I can see it just fine. Another issue maybe related I a FTP server which was running smoothly until a IP from china and one from Poland started to break in. According to logs they never passed through but afterwards these problems arrived. Now I can't log into FTP even using anonymous with all users access. Even started fresh and enabled everyone still no go. Get the 530 home directory inaccessible IP restrictions bla bla. Tried just about everything and can not figure it out. Made sure bindings were correct on both even mimic the default web site with my web site to no avail. Currently running a system restore because I can't stand the headaches anymore lol but if anyone has any idea why this might have occurred so I can make sure to correct it if it ever were to occur again please tell! I even tried to put my ip in my host file but did nothing. So to re-iterate: Cannot view web page from localhost, 127.0.0.1, :1, IP, and IP with filepath. Also, could not sign into my FTP server even with all settings set back to default. Again this occurred shortly after the two hackers tried to break in and I have now blocked them through router, firewall, and IIS so hopefully that will keep them held back for a while. Any info is greatly welcomed!

Re: Can't see webpage LocalHost, but can externally

    (This is after System Restore)

Alright I figured out the FTP situation and it turned out to be my fault of course. When those two unknown ips tried to brute attack I went crazy and started throwing up all sorts of security and in the process blocked myself. Simply going to ip restrictions and domains and changed Access for unspecified clients=Denied and placed my ip within.

Now for the localhost issue I still do not get it? Is it because I updated to Windows 7 RC from Vista? I enabled failedRequestsTracing  and nothing appears in the folder. I get

    Not Found

HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.

When I try localhost, internal IP, 127.0.0.1, and still nothing? Again I can view externally, but want to have it work properly like before. Now if I turn on the default web site IIS7 comes with it is visible via localhost? Given this I copied the bindings exactly in the applicationHost.config, but to no avail. Should I add something in the HOST file? Hopefully someone can figure this out because it's driving me mad lol

What are the outputs (from elevated command prompt) of

    %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe list sites

    netsh http show iplisten

Re: Can't see webpage LocalHost, but can externally

Hey anilr thanks for the reply.... I have

Default site= original bindings and state=stopped

    My site = http/*:80 and state=Started

    My FTP = ftp*/:21 and state=unknown

IP addresses present in the ip listen list = zero/none ???

Hope this means something to you and if so could you explain please.

    Thanks

Can you look in httperr*.log in %windir%\system32\LogFiles\HTTPERR if you see anything there.

There seems to be a huge list but it appears to be the same thing over and over.... First part looks like an error on this page, but I can't make heads or tails of it. Let me know if this means anything to you.

Hmm, can you also provide the output of

    netsh http show servicestate view="requestq"

Re: Can't see webpage LocalHost, but can externally

All of these things are documented in msdn/technet etc.

The output of this command has

    Request queue name: Sethos Studios
    ...
                Registered URLs:

which indicates that your site is bound to hostname sethosstudios.servegame.com which explains why you cannot hit it with http://localhost since the hostname would not match.  This however does not match the earlier output from appcmd list sites that you provided.
