    SQL Server Express 2008 with Service Pak 1 does not instll

    i am trying to install SQL Server 2008 Express, on a PC with Windows XP Proand receive the following error message:

    SQL Server Express 2008 with Service Pak 1. This product did not install successfully. Here is the log file.

    Hi Sheila,

     The following has  a pointer to the SQL log files. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143702.aspx

    I would start with Detail.txt and see if that givces addtional information.
