    problems in hosting web siite

I have just tried to host a web site on a local machine but can't access pages. Tried to access it using static IP address.eg http://218.240.75.35 (not actual address). have registered a name but don't know how to link it to IP address. Really don't know how to proceed. Have IIS installed. Have it running OK as it can see pages when i access http://localhost.

    Hi,

If your site bind on an port other than 80, then you need to specify the port number.  It looks like: http://StaticIPAddress:2324.

In this case, it is possible the server's firewall is rejecting the connection, you can run PortCheck to check for connectivity.

Check IIS network connectivity with PortCheck v2.0

Also, you can run WFetch to determine the problem:
    WFetch 1.4
