no reaction of w3wp.exe/crashes after 90 sec.

    hello there,

may you can help me. I'm running an .NET 2.0 web-application in ii6. Sometimes the w3wp.exe has no more reaction and crashes after 90 seconds.

What can be the conditions for this kind of problem? How is iis controlling the availability of the threadbase.

How can I set up a timeout and what are the consequences on requests taking to much time.

p.s. Sorry for my bad english

    thank you for your help,
    Peter

Are you seeing any errors in the Application logs?  If an application pool is crashing then it will most certainly have an associated log for that error, so please locate a log and post it here.  You can find these logs by navigating (typically) to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Administrative Tools" > "Event Viewer"

The only problem is that the w3wp hasn`t finished yet (after 90 seconds) and is closed. Is there a possibility to change the shut down time of the w3wp (in this case 90s) to 180s or more, so that querys tanking longer than 90s can be finished?

    thx,
